world without Carlin...?

In all my earthly years there has always been George Carlin to mark the time with his wit, anger, rebellion and willingness to go out there ? to bring it back to us here.

A few weeks ago I watched his latest HBO special "And its bad for ya" marveling how nothing and everything changes in a person's life. I didn't know alot of the particulars about his life but it wasn't necessary, it came out in his comedy. Hard to believe he goes back to the 50's when it comes to his "debut". Thanks to the older brothers and sisters of friends I met the hippy dippy weatherman, class clown, occupation foole and fm/am personas.
I admit there was a time in the 90's that I was at a different point in my life and our anger didn't mesh or he sounded cranky, not funny. But these last few years, as I age and shake my head about the same things, I will miss George's point of view. I, too, have a good look toward the "fuck-its" in my future and pray to follow the legacey he left behind. I have good reason to grab the vinyls and have a listen.

say

by john mayer featured in the Bucket List.

Take out of your wasted honor
Every little best frustration
Take out all your so called problems
Better put them in quotations

Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say

Walkin like a one man army
Fightn with the shadows in your head
Living out the same old moment
Knowing you'd be better off instead
If you could only

Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say

Have no fear for giving in
Have no fear for getting older
You better know that in the end its better to say too much
Than to never to say what you need to say again

Even if your hands are shaking
And your faith is broken
Even as the eyes are closing
Do it with a heart wide open
Why?

Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say........................

6 words branded in my head. It just might save a lot of time and bullshit

train

my new equine friend is a handsome,19 year old quarterhorse chestnut brown. He's a good fit size wise. While I don't know the particulars his sense feels generally gentle with some spirit to be called on.
Dude is happily retired, grazing with the senior horses. No more annoying humans to haul around. You earned it, enjoy it.
The smells, the sounds, the dogs. There is a new one, Buddy, a mixed lab/chow. Forge and Doc remain strong! As does my mentor. How she does it I have no idea. It must be in the DNA. The amount of love and work she devotes to her farm and her horses is tremendous. The people she touches and teaches with just her presence... To be back at the farm...
Her daily work plus that of a team of people is never ending. It is her very life. Its humbling and daunting to imagine that lifestyle. Life is a series of doors & I'm so very glad I have opened this barn door again.

pain and silence

where have i been since May 5th. Right here where I always am but definitely different. I've been able to manage the emotional, intellectual and physical tests of MS but physical pain is an altogether different sort of bird. That's where I get tripped up, so to speak. I am finally getting some relief from the pain of bursitis, of all things. So now I can't blame everything on the MS. I used to have this delusion that MS was my 'get out of jail free card" for other physical problems. Yes, I do have problems with magical thinking at times!! Now frozen shoulder, bursitis. What... not related or can be blamed up by saying MS. That sucks. I was just getting used to saying MS after 23 years!!

i had more difficulty adjusting to losses than in times past. There have been losses of human relationships, altering relationships and the just plain sure I don't want to be in them relationships.

2 beloved kitties are romping with the big cats and that's left a big hole in the house as well.

Now that I have spewed all the negative, I can say that I am still alive today and that's a good thing. I am riding horses again, seeing friends and planning for my big ventur to Wyoming in August. Feel like I'm coming right round again.
